Lidded jar (black clay)

A handbuilt square pot with a fitted lid, made from dark stoneware clay and finished with a soft crème glaze.

This piece is constructed by hand rather than thrown, giving it a quiet architectural quality. The black clay provides structure and weight, while the light crème glaze settles into the surface, highlighting subtle textures and soft edges formed during building.

The lid sits securely, making the pot suitable for holding salt, sugar, tea, or small objects that prefer to stay contained. The contrast between the dark clay body and the pale glaze keeps the form visually grounded without feeling heavy.

As with all handbuilt work, small variations in surface, proportion, and glaze coverage are part of the process and give each piece its own character.

Dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended. Avoid sudden temperature changes and handle with care.
